Volunteer Experience

While I was living in the UK I became a member of the Army Cadet Force, from the age of 15.

This was character building for me and help me grow in strength and help me understand how to deal with different diversity  and  problems that would arise for myself and also for others around me. 

This was a club for young adolescents to learn military skills in the field and also through ceremonial duties. You personally attain star levels through your career in the club, you also learn how to team build, problem solve as a team as well as an individual, once  you have achieved all ten subject passes you then qualify for your first star, there are four star levels all together and when you get to the fourth star you are normally at the age of an adult (17/18).  If you are good enough you are asked to stay on as an adult instructor. This happened to me and I was given my own unit to run in London with an attendance which I built from just 8 cadets attending to 30 attending twice a week for 5 years.  


Running this unit voluntarily consisted of me writing training program for the cadets so that they could achieve their star levels.  Organising field weekend trips for field craft badges, by way of transport, food, accommodation, weapons and ammunition, permission to use Ministry of Defense (MOD) property. Ceremonial duties such as the Lord Mayors Show and Remmberance Sunday. 

I stayed a member for over 12 years gaining the rank of Colour Sargent and also acomplished becoming an ACF champion wining the 100 meters sprint for UK and Ireland ACF females.
