  • Analytical techniques and skills in both theoretical and practical components of my major were essential for my understanding of Microbiology Hands on techniques performed included: Gram stains, pour, spread and streak plates, agar preparation, pipetting, PCR, microscopy, 10-fold dilutions, antimicrobial sensitivity tests, various biochemical tests like catalase, oxidase and KOH tests and dissections These basic techniques along with the ability to work in a group and write laboratory reports were perfected throughout my university experience
  • Participated in the Psychiatric Spelling Competition in 2012 where I lead my team and finished in 4th place Having to memorize 100 words and definitions, this experience aided in refining the capabilities of my memory and teamwork skills
  • In 2019, I joined Project discovery which provided me with the opportunity to socialize with new people and perfect my marketing skills
  • Took part in the ICH Drama workshops held at the Daphne Hackett Theatre in Queen's Park by the NCF This new experience provided me with the opportunity to learn how to act out a script, develop basic acting skills and see what it takes to bring a play to life
  • In addition to these, I am strongly adept in regard to computers and other technology and art

  • December 2020, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Volunteered three days a week for 4 hours each in the laboratory by helping to sort blood samples and observing microbiological techniques, providing me with a knowledgeable experience.
  • Summer 2021, The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory, Volunteered for 3 days a week for 6 hours each in the Clinical Microbiology department overseeing analytical techniques performed by professional laboratory technologists before being taught these skills in university. This helped me to understand what my major would entail before it began.
  • Summer 2022, The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory, Volunteered for 3 days a week for 6 hours each helping to label SARS-CoV-2 samples sent to the laboratory. Even though this was a different department than the one I previously volunteered in, the opportunity to learn more about how the processing of these samples work to provide positive or negative results was still vital for me in my career path.
  • Summer 2023, The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory, Volunteered 3 days a week for 6-8 hours each during May to July first by helping to label blood samples sent to the laboratory then by observing laboratory technicians in the Clinical Bacteriology department and taking part in some of the tests being performed.
  • Summer 2023, The National Cultural Foundation, Volunteered with the NCF to assist in Crop Over events including Soca 4.0, where I used my intrapersonal communication skills to ensure an enjoyable event for patrons.
