People first, profits after. A humanist on the quest to create a better world. For a decade now I have had the opportunity to work in both private and non-profit sectors. During this journey, I developed a strong sense of interest in Impact based businesses and technologies. This experience has enabled me to see that business growth is guaranteed when we take care of everyone involved in making the final product happen. - Balance for better - in other words. When I am not redirecting the focus on humanity and the quest for transformation, you will find me reading, writing, and planting seeds - in real soil.

I founded BlackInTech in 2019. We became official in 2022 December and I started a full-time role with the company in October 2023.

My responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Policy Development and Advocacy: I develop and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion policies within the tech industry, enhancing my skills in policy analysis, formulation, and promotion.
  • Community Engagement and Outreach: I lead initiatives to engage the tech community and underrepresented groups, organizing conferences, summits, workshops, and networking opportunities to foster active participation.
  • Program Management and Implementation: Designed and implemented our mentoring program supporting career development and social integration of young Black professionals, involving strategic planning, resource allocation, and performance evaluation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Built partnerships with tech companies, educational institutions, and non-profits to create opportunities for underrepresented individuals and promote inclusive practices.
  • Research and Data Analysis: Conducted research and analyzed data to identify barriers to entry and advancement for Black professionals in tech, contributing to evidence-based policy-making.
  • Public Speaking and Representation: I represent BlackInTechBerlin at conferences, panels, and media engagements, articulating the organization's mission and advocating for community needs.
  • Project Management: I am responsible for ensuring projects get implemented as per donor requirements. Particularly, report writing, managing staff and financial management.

Currently overseeing the Africa Berlin Tech Network a project funded by the Berlin Senate. (The project comes to an end in September).
