Occasionally acted as the Group Financial Controller over a seven-year period, prepared strategic business analysis and monthly reports for the Board, attended monthly Board, Finance and Risk Committee meetings and presents the financial reports. Acted as a strategic advisor to individual directors, executive management, and other department heads; was a member of the strategic planning and implementation team; was a member of the products and services development team; developed various operational KPIs, managed the day to day functions of the Accounts and Finance department (21 staff) divided up into General Ledger, Member Ledger, Card and E Services and Payroll; was the principal budget officer; protected the assets of the Credit Union and assisted with the overall growth and development of the Group. Key Achievements: Conducted research and analysis and wrote the business cases for the establishment of 3 additional branches including a mobile branch which is a first of its kind in Barbados. The recommendations were approved by the Board of Directors. Utilized aggressive budgeting practices and influencing skills over the operations department that drove record levels of growth to be achieved by the Credit Union within a 6-year period, including - loan growth $248.6 million, deposit growth $283.4 million, revenue growth $306.2 million and asset growth $282.9 million which pushed the Credit Union's total assets past the billion-dollar mark and the repayment of all external debt totaling $56 million thus saving millions in interest expense. Prepared monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and created leading and lagging KPIs. Was the lead internal resource working with the external auditors in the completion of the annual audits and played a lead role in the Credit Union's adoption and implementation of IFRS9. Was responsible for completing and submitting timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Financial Services Commission. Worked closely with each business unit, helping them establish goals and achieving them in the most cost-effective manner while informing my analysis of the organization's financial performance.
