This is a senior-level position providing clinical leadership for assigned services based on international standards and The Substance Abuse Foundation Inc.’s standards of care, including integration of the multidisciplinary team, individual and group clinical supervision, monitoring of quality trends and implementation of quality improvement initiatives. Responsibility for developing and overseeing all aspects of the Clinical Department. Includes the ability to develop and plan long range strategies aimed at programme growth and long term sustainability. Exemplifying strong macro-level orientation ensuring strategic thoughts and actions are displayed. I also serve on the Executive Team and play a key role in Public and Agency advocacy efforts locally, regionally and internationally and that positively influences and support treatment issues.
Examine and assess behaviour to diagnose behavioural, emotional and cognitive disorders
Interview adolescents, prepare case histories
Supervise other counsellors, social service staff and volunteers
Prepare a treatment plan for clients
Provide counseling for adolescents therapy
Apply psychological theory and principles regarding behaviour and mental processes
Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them
Observe and analyze patients during treatment sessions
Counsel clients, provide therapy and mediation services, and facilitate group sessions
Maintain accurate records
Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling programs and interventions, and clients' progress in resolving identified problems and movement toward defined objectives
